Nuneaton Bowling Club offers coaching free of charge to new members interested in playing the game. First three sessions free; thereafter you should join as a Novice Bowling Member.
The only equipment a new/novice person needs is a pair of flat soled shoes.
The Club initially provides the bowls and other equipment free of charge (located in the changing room). Sometimes the coaching is moved to another evening due to the bowling green being used for a Club match, or due to inclement weather. Please contact the below named to establish whether alternative dates have been arranged or that coaching is taking place. Nuneaton Bowling Club has two "level 1" qualified coaches who you can contact to make enquiries. The contact details are as follows: -
Coaching co-ordinator is Alan Kinge 07901911925
Novice co-ordinator is Pat Hallam 07403079531
Senior Coach is Ges Huxley
Additionally another coach and experienced club bowlers are on hand to assist. So, what have you got to lose? Come along and give it a try.
Following a set period as a novice bowler you will be offered full club membership. There are currently 3 types of membership, Novice, Full Bowler and Social, each with an annual charge.
Novice members are eligible to play in games/matches and Club Competitions. If you are interested in playing club games/matches the fixture lists are located in the club hall on the men’s’ or ladies boards as appropriate. Add your name if you wish to play.
The relevant captain will select the team and the onus is on you to check to see if you are selected. Tick your name (or respond to text messages) to indicate your availability noting time/venue/ match fee and other information including dress requirements. Please ensure you contact the Captain if you suddenly find you cannot play. Costs for each game/match are variable (plus fuel for drivers) and usually include refreshments.
Look out for upcoming social events on the board in the hallway.
